Luke Cage Creator Cheo Hodari Coker Challenged Disney+’s Decision
Disney+ included Luke Cage and other series of the partnership between Marvel and Netflix in the catalogue. However, audiences and production noticed some cuts in the tributes at the end of the episodes. The main one, made to the actor Reg E. Cathey bothered production creator, Cheo Hodari Coker.
Reg E. Cathey appeared in the second season as the father of Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and died of cancer before the episodes premiered. This was the last work of the actor, who received tribute at the end of the series.
“Why do that? Reg E. Cathey it was part of the heart and soul of the second season. We weren’t obligated to dedicate the season to him just because he died, we felt obligated because we loved him and he was an encouraging force for all of us.” coker stated on Twitter (via Omelet).
I mean, why do this? Reg E Cathey was part of the heart and soul of Season Two. We didn’t feel obligated to dedicate the season to him just because he died — we felt obligated because we loved him and he was a galvanizing force. https://t.co/KF87ffQldH via @BoundingComics
