Send helpa survival film directed by Sam Raimi
If Sam Raimi since then he has produced several films, including his last feature film as director, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnesswas presented in 2022. But after this break which will extend until next year, the filmmaker will return with Send help. This film should mix several genres, as it is described as a psychological horror thriller with touches of dark humor.
Taking up the plot of many stories, including that of the cult film Alone in the world, Send help follows characters isolated on an island after an accident. But instead of Tom Hanks and a volleyball, the movie focuses on Linda Liddle and Bradley Preston, an employee and her boss who don’t get along but they become the only survivors of the plane crash during a business trip. They must then put aside their differences and help each other survive.
Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien are stranded on an island
The two main protagonists of Send help are played by Rachel McAdams (Sherlock Holmes) AND Dylan O’Brien (The labyrinth). And both appear in the first photos of the feature, shared by Entertainment weekly.

One such image shows Linda helping Bradley drink after the latter suffered an injury. But throughout the film, the tension will increase between the two characters. They will therefore have to show will and spirit to overcome it.

According to Sam Raimi, Send help it’s not just a story of survival on a remote island. The film also tells the transformation of Linda’s characterwho goes from an undervalued employee to a woman who “proves its value” and on which Bradley must rely. According to the director, one of the messages of the film is that of“encourage our society to treat people with respect and kindness, regardless of their status”.
Send help was written by Mark Swift AND Damian Shannon. Accustomed to working together, the two mainly wrote screenplays for horror films Freddy vs Jason AND Friday 13th.
Send help is expected early next year. It will arrive in French cinemas on January 28, 2026.
