Band led by vocalist and guitarist Dave Grohl would be planning their return to the country for 2026; last visit had taken place in September 2023
THE Foo Fighters returned to the stage in September, after a one-year hiatus without shows, with a new drummer: Ilan Rubin. The removal also served to stifle his personal controversy. Dave Grohlas the singer and guitarist admitted to having had a daughter out of wedlock.
The group’s initial plans involved a series of performances in Asia and two upcoming engagements in Mexico, scheduled for November. Apparently, however, the agenda should gain more dates in 2026 — and even include Brazil.
According to the portal Metropolisesthe band is negotiating a free show in Brasília next year. The governor of the Federal District himself, Ibaneis Rocha (MDB), confirms the information and adds that there are more cities in the running. He did not give other names, so it is only known that only the federal capital is in the dispute.
As published by the vehicle, the presentation would be paid for with government incentives and private sponsorship. The investment would have a similar model to the performances of Madonna and Lady Gaga in Rio de Janeiro. Rocha stated:
“They are still deciding whether it will be in Brasília, but I am working hard to make it work.”
José Norberto Flescha journalist specialized in gathering information about international shows in Brazil, previously published that Foo Fighters should indeed return to the country. The idea would be to visit us in January, right at the beginning of the year.
Foo Fighters’ last trip to Brazil took place in September 2023. On that occasion, they headlined one of the days of the first edition of the festival The Townin São Paulo. They also took advantage of the opportunity for a solo show at the Couto Pereira stadium, in Curitiba.
Foo Fighters’ new drummer
Ilan Rubin is American, 37 years old and has been playing since 2009 with the Nine Inch Nails. He also worked with Danny Elfman, Paramore, Angels & Airwavesbetween others.
He filled the vacancy left by Josh Freesedismissed without justification given. Interestingly, Freese returned to Nine Inch Nails, in a seemingly unplanned drummer change.
Dave Grohl (voice and guitar), Nate Mendel (low), Pat Smear (guitar), Chris Shiflett (guitar) and Rami Jaffee (keyboards) complete the group.
