Family and friends of Ace Frehley celebrated his life on Wednesday during an intimate ceremony in the Bronx, New York, which was also attended by the co-founders of Kiss — Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley and Peter Criss.
Eddie Trunkpresenter of SiriusXM and close friend of Frehleyshared his reflections on the funeral and confirmed the presence of members of the Kiss. “Ace Frehley was buried today in the Bronx, NY. It was a very emotional few days, to say the least, as we said goodbye to a rock icon and a long-time friend,” he wrote. Trunk on social media. “All services took place as smoothly as possible and were attended by a small group of family and close friends, including the three surviving original members of the Kiss.”
Trunk also announced plans for a future tribute show to the guitarist, with the approval of his family. Frehley. “It’s something I — and many others — feel he deserves and should happen,” he wrote.

Frehley died in Morristown, New Jersey, aged 74, on October 16. According to its representative, Lori Lousararianthe death was the result of “a recent fall at his home”, although the exact cause was not immediately disclosed.
The vocalist of Kiss, Gene Simmonsshared a moving tribute to the guitarist shortly after his death. “Our hearts are broken. Ace gone. No one can touch the legacy of Ace“, he wrote. “I know he loved the fans — he told me that many times. Even sadder is that Ace did not live long enough to be honored at the Kennedy Center Honorsin December.” Simmons added:

Earlier that day, Simmons and Stanley released a joint statement, describing Frehley as “an essential and irreplaceable rock soldier during some of the most formative and fundamental chapters of the band and its history.” The bandmates concluded: “He is and will always be part of the legacy of KISS.”
