The Goonies – Lego celebrates the movie with a stunning set

The LEGO Group, in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, presents the set The goonies are LEGO® ideasa diorama from 2,912 pieces which invites adult fans to bring back the most legendary underground hunt in a LEGO version.

To celebrate the launch, the LEGO team teamed up with the actor Oscar Winner Ke Huy Quan To make a nostalgic mini-film dedicated to the 80s classic. Reprising his role as genius inventor Richard Data Wang, Ke Huy Quan takes viewers through the pitfalls of the set, revealing hidden curiosities and sharing personal memories of his iconic performance. Fans can watch the mini-movie and return to the adventure at this link.

This collector’s set reproduces memorable scenes in bricks, from the shelter brothers to the caves, to the legendary treasure room of one-eyed Willy. You can also flip the model to reveal the ghostly wreckage of the Pirate Ship Inferno. Twelve main characters are represented as minifigures, including Mikey, Mouth, Chunk, Andy and of course Data. New elements have been created for Sloth’s Pirate Hat and Bandana and Mamma Fratelli’s Hair and Beret.

The goonies are all about heart, adventure and friendship, and this set captures that spirit in incredible detail. FromThe traps in the treasure room, like going back through the tunnels with the gang, only now I can share that magic with a new generation of fans”.

Builders can drop stones and activate traps with a key key and play the outline of the plot – but be careful not to miss a note! The set is full of nostalgic details for fans of Gooniesincluding data utility belt and oral brush. There is also a reference to the legendary octopus cut scene and Sloth’s spectacular descent from the mast to the bridge of hell.

LEGO® ideas set by the goonies were proposed by the Greek designer and 3D artist Vaggelis ntezes (Lego Ideas Name: Delusion Brick) as part of the LEGO ideas program. This project allows fans to submit their ideas, which are then voted on by the community before being considered for official production.

“When designing this set, I brought back my childhood memories, growing up in the 80s, playing with Lego Pirates sets and watching the goonies“ He explained Vaggelis ntezes. “Combining nostalgia, imagination and creativity, I wanted to make something that offered both play and display value. The final design combines Inferno’s legendary ship with a cave system and pitfalls, capturing the spirit of adventure that made the film unforgettable.
