Prey’s mud scenes look like a nightmare to film (even for the predator)

Critical reviews of Hulu Prey they were incredibly positive Predator spiritual predecessor of . However, that doesn’t mean making this movie was the most comfortable experience overall. Apparently, the muddy scenes in the sci-fi action movie were a real nightmare to film, even for the Predator.

Defeating the Predator is no easy task, as the Comanche nation had to use skill and luck, as well as fight a lot of mud. In an episode of The Big Picture podcast (via doorbell ), director Dan Trachtenberg explained how mud was a challenge for the actors on set, saying:

It was very difficult. We watched a lot of Neverending Story, which ran on giant stages we didn’t have. We dig a trench and build a mud pit in nature. I’ll say the interesting thing is you wouldn’t know it was there when we came in the morning to shoot, you know, just walking, but as soon as a person walks in, as soon as human flesh interacts with whatever it would be. it was there, the most horrible stench you could smell came out. I don’t know what that chemical interaction was, but it was disgusting. And a lot of actors had to go, we had to go stuntmen, stuntmen, Amber [Midthunder]other.

One of the actors who had to go through this grueling process was Dane DiLiegro, who played the predator. In addition to struggling with mud, the The 6’9 “tall former athlete had to lose 25 pounds Prey to play this character as the filmmakers wanted someone with a leaner build than the muscular one. DiLiegro also trained in martial arts for two months and worked with a company called Iron Neck to train his neck for a crazy Prey disguise this involved 13 lbs of the predator’s head to sit on its neck. That’s all in addition to the stunt and motion capture work he had to do. Talk about dedication to your craft.

Obviously, if you are shooting scenes in the mud, you will get dirty. Dan Trachtenberg also talked about another challenge he came from PreyThe mud scenes show the timing of the scenes where the cast would look dirty and clean. He explained:

The other trick is that once you get in, you can’t clean up for a while. So we shot it over the course of a week of shooting, or 5 days, where we would do like all rounds. It cleans up, we regroup and then we shoot late at night on this stage, on this set. And then the next day we would come back and try our best to leave. You know we should do this during the day because once you’re in it, that’s it, and you don’t want to spend too much time there anyway.

Another major actor who did a lot of physical work during the film was Prey Amber star half thunder. The moment of the audition that entrusted the role to Midthunder he went through a path of physical obstacles as he told a story through his movements. With all the preparation she went through for the role, it’s no wonder you think can beat Arnold Schwarzenegger Predator character .

Having to fight through the grueling mud and all the other physical challenges that come with it Prey shows that these cast and crew members have had their work cut out for them.
