Children’s Hospital Los Angeles is finalizing the details of its upcoming gala celebration, lining up Justin Timberlake to act and a pair of actors named Pine as co-hosts.
Chris Pine and his father, Robert Pine, will host the show, which will also feature Panda Express, CHLA’s longtime corporate partner and main sponsor of the evening, and Courage Award honorees Christine and Jeff Worth, philanthropists. Past winners include Drew Barrymore, Jamie Lee Curtis, Pau Gasol, Jimmy Kimmel, Heidi Klum, Natalie Portman, Costco Wholesale, Los Angeles Kings and The Walt Disney Company.

The honor aims to “recognise individuals and organizations that advocate for children and child-related issues and whose humanitarian efforts are exemplary.” The network’s philanthropic arm, Panda Cares, has donated more than $282 million to various organizations that support youth health and education since 1999. More than $21 million has been raised for CHLA through Panda Cares, and in By 2020, the foundation has pledged another $20 million to build a Panda Cares Hope Center in CHLA.
The Worthes are longtime CHLA champions and say they participated in the Living Proof campaign to support the hospital’s expansion as founding members of the Children’s Fund 100. Both also served on the hospital’s former Heart Institute campaign committee, which Jeff co-chaired. . . Most recently, Jeff served as Chairman of the Board of Directors, a position he held at a crucial time for the institution.
“We are grateful to host this important event for the first time since 2018,” said CHLA President and CEO Paul S. Viviano. “We honor these compassionate and generous advocates for children for their philanthropy, volunteerism and advocacy. We will also honor our frontline clinical team members and philanthropists who help us fulfill our mission to create hope and build a healthy future for children.
The event will take place on October 8th at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica. Proceeds from the night will go towards the hospital’s work in providing critical care to pediatric patients.
