Golden Land Director Nardeep Khurmi Signs Rain (Exclusive) –

The move comes after Khurmi won the $1 million award from AT&T Untold Stories after submitting his film concept at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival. This win earned him his film debut. land of gold A guaranteed spot at the Tribeca 2022 festival, streaming on HBO Max and private lessons.

After debuting in Tribeca, land of gold Received the Jury Prize at the Geena Davis Bentonville Festival. The film follows Kiran, played by Khurmi, a first-generation Punjabi truck driver and worried father-to-be who meets Elena, an undocumented 10-year-old Mexican-American, on a road trip.

As Kieren helps Elena find her way home, the odd couple bond through their shared history and changing expectations of what a family really is. Khurmi’s debut film was filmed on location at the Cherokee Nation Studios and Studios in Oklahoma.

The AT&T Untold Stories pitch contest aims to support and fund filmmakers from underrepresented communities who are striving to tell new stories. In addition to the $1 million prize, Tribeca and WarnerMedia worked closely with Kurmi and oversaw the film’s production.

AT&T and Tribeca also supported the filmmaker in award presentations, ratings screenings and film promotions.
