Well, the Emmy nominee finally talked about auditioning for the superhero who travels in space.
The mid summer The actor was known for his little comedy and his dramatic work outside of maze runner franchising. But facing the beloved Marvel character was uncharted territory for Will Poulter. While the role is arguably the most important of his career so far, Poulter was unfamiliar with Adam Warlock before auditioning for Marvel. The next Hollywood star has turned upside down the reading list in the audition process he went through before getting the character.
I did my first audition in June last year. [2021], and that was the first time I auditioned, and then I got the part in September, I think. And then I started shooting in December … At first I didn’t know which character I was auditioning for. I knew I was closer to the moment [of casting] For Readers Even though I didn’t know Adam Warlock before, I knew “Guardians of the Galaxy” very well, and it was my favorite “planet” in the Marvel Universe, so to speak.
Of course, Will Poulter wouldn’t be the first MCU star to find out which character they’re auditioning for (or completely forget he’s in the Marvel movies). it was understandable that Poulter didn’t know much about Adam Warlock as the character isn’t as well known as the Avengers, X-Men, or Spider-Man. Sure, Marvel fans knew about the superhero, but the general public doesn’t know him that well.
Although Poulter was unfamiliar with Warlock, he was a huge fan of James Gunn’s work. After receiving the Gunn inscription Vol.3 scenery, the maze runner The star loved the director’s tone and creativity. But it wasn’t just reading Gunn’s script that won him over. Guardians Vol. 2 sequel as he explained why he was so grateful to play the divine superhero.
I’m a huge fan of James Gunn’s tone, creativity and work and so many actors, you know, that I can call my colleagues now, which I’m very grateful for. So yeah, having some sort of role in this world is very, very good for me.
Poulter’s praise for James Gunn and the tutor Casting makes the trequel sound more formidable. It looked like Will Poulter was enjoying working with the cast and crew. The experience was so positive that he even expressed his appreciation of him for being a part of Gunn’s film.
Signing with Marvel usually means a multi-year film deal, but things are still in the air for Adam Warlock, according to Will Poulter. The 29-year-old actor has admitted that he is unsure of his future with the MCU as he and the studios wait to hear the fan reception for the cosmic superhero. Poulter said he’d like to continue Warlock’s journey into the MCU once Guardians vol. 3 He has already explained that Warlock will figure things out in Part 3 as he tries to find himself.
Marvel fans will have to wait guardians of the galaxy vol. 3 will be released in theaters on May 5, 2023 to see what will happen in Adam Warlock’s MCU debut.
