Rumors about Marvel’s first family continue to spin and spread pending the official casting of the next. Fantastic Four movies to be announced As with Spider-Man and Batman, many have worn the blue suits in their attempts to make this property work, but none have been able to sustain a film franchise. Marvel has announced that this new Fantastic Four the movie is about to begin Phase 6 MCU in 2024. The latest of these fan casts is the breadwinner, Mr. Fantastic himself, Reed Richards.
In his latest article published on Instagram, @bosslogic drew Penn Badgley (you know, that creepy stalker from netflix show You, and this disturbing blogger of Gossip Girl) like the next Reed Richards. But the artist added a caveat, saying he would rather see Badgley dressed as the Fantastic Four’s nemesis, Doctor Doom.
I agree with @bosslogic, Badgley would be a better villain. However, in the comments @harleyplays defended the theory by saying:
He’s good at the roles he plays and I think this casting says a lot about the angle they’ll take with Reed Richard and I’m not mad about that. Also, I’ve surpassed Jim as Reed since he revealed Blackbolt’s strength to Scarlet Witch at the beginning of lmao
This commentary on “Jim as Reed”, or more specifically, John Krasinski as Reed, is all the rage on the Internet. Since the release of Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness Krasinski’s casting was a moot point; However, Krasinski’s future with Marvel looks bright . That said, it’s unclear what his involvement in the MCU will be. Some have speculated that Krasinski may still be Reed Richards. and it could also potentially direct Fantastic Four.
Even with the possibility of Krasinski playing Reed Richards, we haven’t gotten much solid information about the film. With The departure of Jon Watts from Fantastic Four there are rumors of who will direct the film. Marvel could have found its director in Vision of Wanda by Matt Shakman . but this has not been officially confirmed.
Rumors have also been circulating about the other three members of the Fantastic Four. Even though she said she wouldn’t be involved, fans love the idea of Emily Blunt being Sue Storm.
