In 2021, Zac Efron drew attention for having a ‘square’ jaw – and went viral that he would have done facial harmonization

In 2021, Zac Efron went viral on the internet after several netizens suggested that the actor would have done facial harmonization. Now, the actor in the films of High School Musical denied the rumors about plastic surgery, and revealed how the jaw muscles “grew” as a result of an injury.

During an interview with Men’s Health, efron explained how an accident and a lapse in physical therapy caused the masseter muscle, used for chewing, to grow. The actor recalled how he was running through the sock house when he slipped and hit his chin against the granite corner of a fountain-and lost consciousness. Upon waking up, he found his chin bone “dangling from his face.”

After the injury, the iconic performer of Troy Bolton started physical therapy with a specialist to stop the muscles inside the face and jaw from overcompensating. When she took a break from treatment, “the masseter just grew. It got really, really big.”

In the interview, Zac Efron said how he was unaware of the online speculation until his mother called him to ask if he had actually had any plastic surgery. “If I valued what other people thought of me while they think I do, I definitely wouldn’t be able to do this job,” he said.
