‘Rap Sh!t’ renewed for a second season on HBO Max

The streamer picked up a second season of the comedy from creator Issa Rae and showrunner Syrieta Singleton. update for this Rap shit! you It comes right after the show’s first season finale, which premiered on September 1.

“We are very happy to be playing in the World Cup. Rap shit! you Another season with this incredibly talented team,” Ray said in a statement.

Singleton added: “This show and cast are unique and I’m excited to do it again with them. Let’s go bigger and stronger!”

Rap Sh!t stars Aida Osman as Shauna and Kamilion as Mia, two former high school friends who reconnect as adults and form a rap duo. The cast also includes Jonika Booth, Devon Terrell and RJ Siler.

“We are so excited to continue this journey with Shauna and Mia and the incredibly fun world of Rap shit! you,” said Sarah Aubrey, director of original content at HBO Max. “With the wonderfully comedic and unique perspectives of Aida Osman, Kamilion, Issa Rai, Syrieta Singleton and the Hooray team, season two is sure to bring even more seduction and intrigue.”

The series received positive reviews from critics. the hollywood reporterLovia Giarkye praises the “warm and familiar” chemistry between the two leads.

Rae and Singleton produce Rap Sh!t Montrell McKay for Hoorae and Jonathan Berry and Dave Beck for 3 Arts Entertainment. Yung Miami and JT of City Girls are co-executive producers, as are Kevin “Coach K” Lee and Pierre “P” Thomas of Quality Control Films and Sara Rastog of Hoorae. Rae’s audio content company, Raedio, is overseeing the series’ music.
