Armor Wars – The Disney + series with Don Cheadle turned into a movie

Over the past few hours, one of the many projects related to the Marvel Cinematic Universe has changed shape: Armor Wars, originally envisioned as a TV series starring Don Cheadle, will become a movie.

The news came via The Hollywood Reporter: sources reported that, while Marvel Studios was studying the best way to tell the story they had in mind, they assessed that a film would be a more suitable tool than a TV series.

Star Don Cheadle, who will reprise his role as James “Rhodey” Rhodes, Tony Stark’s friend and War Machine armor pilot, and Yassir Lester, who directed the Armor Wars screenplay, remain clear of the project. , even now that this series will be a feature film.

So far the information on Armor Wars is very little, and is limited to the title and logo shown at the recent D23, despite the series being announced in 2020. It remains to be seen if it will be inspired by the famous cycle of stories written in late 80s. by David Michelinie and Bob Layton, or if, as announced in 2021, the Armor Wars storyline will address the death of Tony Stark.

Among other things, this is not the first case of media change at Marvel: even Hawkeye, in fact, was first conceived as a stand alone movie about Clint Barton, and then transformed into the TV series we saw in 2021 on Disney + .
