Jason Momoa will be the hero’s face Minecraftthe film being made at Warner Bros. which will bring the popular videogame franchise to live-action.
As indicated by The Hollywood Reporter, the actor is now in the final stages of negotiations in the studio to get into the cast of the film. The project based on the popular video game will also be directed by Jared Hessformer director of Napoleon Dynamite. The film’s producers are Roy Lee and Mary Parent, fresh from Dune’s success, while executive producers will be given credit along with Jon Berg, Cale Boyter and Jon Spaihts.
Minecraftdeveloped by Swedish software house Mojang Studios, debuted in 2011 and quickly became a global success, soon became a true icon of the video game world. The franchise reached a number close to 100 million users within a few years of launch, leading to Mojang Studios acquired by Microsoft for $ 2.5 billion in 2014. Vu Bui, currently CCO of the company, and Lydia Winters, Main Story assigned, will participate in filming.
