In a note to Rolling Stone USA, henna stated, “Her music helped me get through the ups and downs of grad school, so naming a new species of millipede after her is my way of saying thank you.”

The researcher explained that he and other scientists had searched for these species of millipedes in the Appalachian Mountains for five years. For now, the nannaria swiftae was only found in Tennessee, United States.
