Imax will promote Natasha Fernandez CFO –

Imax has promoted Natasha Fernandez to the position of Chief Financial Officer, which she will enter on May 1.

The CEO is Joseph Sparacio, who served as CFO from 2007 to 2016 and then returned to Imax last year as interim CFO. With 15 years of experience on the Imax finance team, Fernandez most recently served as Vice President Finance and now reports directly to Imax CEO Rich Gelfond.

Absorbing the brunt of the corovirus pandemic that ended massive theater closures across the world before reopening across the industry, Imax was able to maintain a solid foundation during the COVID-19 crisis.

“Natasha is a phenomenal native talent who has risen through the ranks at Ajax thanks to her strategic thinking, financial mindset and diligence; she has recently proved to be a successful treasurer of our strong balance during the pandemic,” said Gelfond.

“As Imax expands its business around the world and launches new experiences and technologies, Natasha’s leadership will be crucial in building the company’s strong financial position,” added Gelfond.

Prior to joining the CFO last year, Fernandez has worked as a corporate treasurer since 2018, leading the company’s successful $200 million convertible debt offering in 2021 and negotiating a new loan agreement reached earlier this year. His other finance positions at Imax included Assistant Controller and Director of Financial Reporting.

Prior to joining IMAX, Fernández was an Audit Manager at Deloitte. “I am very excited to be in this role and to be working with Ritchie and the team to usher in a new era of growth for Imax, a company that has expanded and developed dramatically during my time here,” Fernandez said in a statement.

Gelfond also thanked the CFO for the temporary maintenance of Sparacio Imax.
