Benito Cerati presents “Shasei”, his first solo album

Benito Cerati begins his solo career with “Shasei”, his first album.

It is a material with ten new songs, inspired by his experiences during adolescence, the intensity of the first romantic encounters, the mistakes made, the passage of time and the coexistence between nature and technology.

For the composition of the new material, Benito fed on ambient music and spy movie soundtracksproducing an album with a baroque sound and many spatial, nocturnal and sensual layers.

“Agujero negro” and “Buenos días amor” are the two songs Benito has chosen to advance the range of musical and aesthetic colors that Shasei’s tracklist promises.

It’s a rather mysterious and nocturnal record. Basically, it’s the most pop thing I’ve ever done, but at the same time it’s where I explore the most genres. There’s a bit of tango and folklore, elements I took from classical music, another from 70s romantic ballads, ambient, vintage movie soundtracks, electronic music from the 1970s 90, loaded with loops and samples…”, declared the singer.
