Meat is a key product that you should pay attention to in your menu in order to reduce the risk of cancer. A leading Russian expert analyzed what can help avoid colorectal cancer and shared recommendations.

The chief oncologist of the Ministry of Health of Russia, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Andrey Kaprin, said in his Telegram channel which product needs the most attention in the prevention of cancer in general and cancer especially rectal.

According to a leading Russian expert, it is meat. As an essential part of a healthy diet, processed meats become dangerous. The academician is convinced that sausage products, sausages and semi-finished meat products should be excluded from the individual and family menu, since the substances in their composition provoke the formation of abnormal cancer cells.

As for fresh meat, Kaprin recommends consuming it as a valuable source of protein. But you need to limit the so-called red meat – this is beef, pork, lamb, horse meat and goat meat.

“Add whole grains, dairy products, foods high in fiber to your diet,” advises the oncologist. And recalls: “Excess weight increases the possibility of developing 13 types of cancer, including colorectal.”

Academician Kaprin also addressed those who have already been diagnosed with cancer – modern methods of treatment can give good results, but no less important is the attitude of the patient and his willingness to cooperate with doctors .

“If you have a sedentary lifestyle, increase physical activity immediately after diagnosis and maintain it throughout treatment.

Your daily exercise plan should include walking, preferably 30 minutes twice a day at a pace that is good for you.

It is walking that helps to prepare the cardiopulmonary system for surgery, to prevent complications, both postoperative and against the background of chemotherapy.

Also include strength exercises with small dumbbells and resistance exercises. Physical activity should resume immediately after surgery, along with chemotherapy. This will help you recover as quickly as possible and get back to a full life.
