Erlanger’s April 3 dream wedding in Miami, where he and Osborne live, has finally surpassed his original vision, particularly when it comes to fashion. According to market research firm The Wedding Report, Erlanger’s wedding is just one of 2.5 million ceremonies in the US in 2022 (caused by a pandemic redesign), a number not seen since 1984. SINGLE WEEKEND Erlanger conceptualized his February vacation on the Big Island of Hawaii as a highly organized and thriving fashion editorial. “I created inspiration boards for each event,” explains Erlanger, who later shared the themes with his sponsors. “It served as a packing guide.”
For a “pastel and floral” beach picnic, Erlanger wore a vintage pink floral dress by Oscar de la Renta, surrounded by elegant nature prints. “Bold and Bright” led Leis’ festive sewing activity, for which Erlanger wore a colorful and playful maxi dress by Australian brand Alémais.
In addition to reaching established fashion contacts, Erlanger used his research skills to discover new designers. “I’m always taking notes and pointing to something in my brain,” he says. At the Miami Pop-Up, Erlanger discovered a unique, redesigned fabric design at Erin Silvers, owner of Zingara Vintage, in the Far Rockaway area of Queens, in the remote Rockaway area of New York. “I’m a classic and I’ve never seen anything like it,” Erlanger said. WEDDING WEEKEND Due to extra planning time due to delays, Erlanger took a collectible-looking capsule that had been stowed away while on vacation. He found them through an in-house network of high-end retailers and through “painful sources” of vintage New York retail and 1stDibs and upscale vintage bridal salon Happy Isles.
“It’s like a piece of history,” says Erlanger, highlighting Dior’s high fashion in the 1950s. “These are not items that anyone can buy in a store.
Erlanger has also used his close relationship with design houses including Dolce & Gabbana for rehearsal dinners and Christian Siriano separately.
On the big day, the bridesmaids, including client Lupita Nyong’o (from right), wore dresses commissioned by Marciano Alexandra O’Neill (who wore Jill Biden at the 2020 inauguration). The look was accented with bespoke hats and bows by Jennifer Behr and bespoke shoes by Margaux. Erlanger says he wanted the different shades of light blue and green “to look like a watercolor painting. Really pretty. ”

Celebrating the peaks in Miami’s glorious Vizcaya Gardens, Erlanger went straight to Prada, which also created the 2022 Oscar-winning dress featuring Nyongo Golden Pallets and the actor’s sweet blue when he won the 2014 Oscars.
“I sent them a moodboard and they played it like a red carpet customer, and they sent me some sketches,” said Erlanger, who shared her green and white color palette for inspiration. “We had small changes and here we are.”
At the wedding, the groom was photographed in a tailored tuxedo next to an Italian house, while for Erlanger, a bespoke trifle from Prada: a robe, a mini “night dancer” and a dazzling georgette ceremony. silk, handcrafted drapes and an intricate flower arrangement. embroidery.
