Famous for ‘guessing’ several events, the series features an episode in which Neymar is injured during the World Cup final
The Brazilian team debuted in 2022 Qatar Cup with a victory against Serbia last Thursday, the 24th, but also with the players Neymar and Danilo getting injured from the match. Interestingly, the Brazilian striker’s recent injury made fans remember an episode of The Simpsons which would have predicted another accident involving Neymar during another world cup.
It all starts with an episode of the series in which the yellow family visits Brazil during the 2014 World Cup🇧🇷 In this ocasion, homer becomes referee of the championship final, officiating the game between the Brazilian national team and, ironically, the German national team.

During the game, then, the player El Divoan animated version of Neymar, simulates a penalty in an attempt to score a goal against the Germans. The problem is, before the game starts, someone tries to bribe homer for him to give victory to Brazil and, therefore, he does not mark the foul.
Realizing that his attempt has no effect on the patriarch of simpsons, the Brazilian striker makes even more drama and leaves the field carried by a stretcher. A few scenes later, the yellow family is present at the funeral of El Divo and homer continues to claim that there was no penalty.
The most curious part of the whole story, however, happens outside of animation. That’s because, at the same 2014 Cup🇧🇷 Neymar actually suffered a serious injury to one of his vertebrae after being hit by the player Zuñiga, from Colombia, during the quarterfinals. Due to the injury, the striker was excluded from the championship and, later, Brazil lost to Germany.
