Matthew Broderick Says COVID-19 Was ‘Really Disappointed’ After Being ‘So Careful’

Matthew Broderick says he’s a sister Plaza Suites Costa Rican Sarah Jessica Parker avoided contracting Covid-19 for so long — and despite other incidents in her family — that she came to believe he was “one of those people who didn’t care.”

The actor appeared on SiriusXM Jess Kegel Show Talk about your experience with your husband, Parker, while he was in the Broadway production. During the conversation, he learned that Neil Simon skipped several performances of the play after he had to be quarantined due to testing positive for COVID-19.

“She was very disappointed. We were very careful and we both never understood. Our daughter had it and for some reason we couldn’t. So my son got it around December,” Broderick said, pointing to an increase in the omicron option. “We still miss him. I started to think that maybe I was one of those people who don’t realize it, but I was dead wrong.”

Both he and Parker positively experienced the COVID-19 days when they played face-to-face on a limited-engagement Broadway show. Due to this, several performances were cancelled.

Speaking with Kegel and Julia Cunningham, Broderick explained that he first noticed symptoms the day he received the booster shot. “I got an amp, a second amp, and that day I thought I must be sick because of my amp, but then I would cough and every time I got a side effects amp, the cough had nothing to do with it. “He said, ‘Anyway, I got the amp and COVID on the same day.’

“So your conspiracy theorists managed to figure this out for me and send me a note,” he added with a laugh.

Before describing his experience with COVID-19 in detail, Broderick also reminisced about the night Broadway closed at the start of the pandemic in March 2020, the star said. Plaza Suites It was the last dress rehearsal when the producers arrived and announced that then-Governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, would turn out the lights.

“We had all the costumes and wigs and everything, but everyone felt like something was going on because I think basketball and hockey stopped and we were there like the show was going to happen,” he told us.

The producers gathered the actors in the auditorium and informed the company that it was 5 pm and Broadway was officially closed. “They said it would be two to four weeks, and then the producer said to me, ‘It might be six to eight weeks between you and me, but you haven’t told anyone.’ “But we say two or four,” recalls Broderick. “Two years went by and I woke up with a really long white beard and he was still in the same place. The same clothes, they probably fall off half an inch. ”

The Plaza Suites The star joked that “not everyone is supposed to have a fancy fit, but he has finally returned to his original size. “Almost everything fit me except the two pants from my act. They said, “We have to make you some new pants,” Broderick told Kegel. “But I’m happy to say that I started work once and did everything I could to get back to my normal, slightly messy mess two years ago.”
