What seems to be the first picture of Dungeons & Dragons: Honor of Thieves, the awaited new film adaptation of the popular boardgame. The photo appears to show one of the franchise’s most iconic locations, but let’s go back one step.

During the 2022 showcase dedicated to the world of D&D, the two film directors Jonathan Goldstein At John Francis Daley spoke in a short video message about the film whose official title was announced in recent days:

After years of being loyal gamers imagining incredible D&D locations, characters and endless adventures like you, we are no more excited to bring this world to the big screen. We just finished shooting in some really incredible locations. A dream come true to bring the Forgotten Realms and the Sword Coast to life. We want to capture the spirit of fun and surprise that everyone at D&D wants. […] We hope to see you in theaters in March 2023. “

In addition to confirmation that the events of the film will be set in the fictional universe of Forgotten Kingdom where we also see Coast of the Sword, behind the directors possibly see a footage from the film on the screen. What we see in the photo appears to be one of D&D’s most popular and iconic locations, that is Castle Neverfortress and dwelling of the Lord of Neverwinter. As you can see below, the similarity between the image presented by the directors and the representation of the fort described in the video game Neverwinter Online of 2010 leaves no room for much doubt:

As D&D fans know, the city is one of the most important and iconic places of the gods Forgotten Kingdom.
