Born in Sacramento and graduated from the University of Industrial Design Cal State Long BeachDavid Jones entered the world of cinema as a model designer. Over a career of more than 40 years he has worked on developing visual effects for many films, some of which have become absolute classics. Thus, he began his career in 1977 working on the design of optical effects and the creation of Star Wars models by George Lucas.
Consultant Steven Spielberg’s third kind of meeting, he also collaborated with Douglas Trambul on this film. Finally in a rather limited filmography (he has been credited with 19 works on small and large screens), he worked on the first series Battlestar Galactica (1979), Buck Rogers (1979), Alien 3 (Head of Visual Effects), Verhoeven Starship Troopers, Batman, Tim Burton’s Challenge, The Hunt for Red October, Cliffhanger and even Air Force One.
In 1996 he received a quote from St. Primetime Emmy Award Fox, for working on the SF series produced by Space 2063, and signed the visual effects for the brilliant series (cult!) Tales from the Crypt from 1989-1995. For so long an artist …
