Imax has expanded its partnership with Japanese exhibition giant Aeon Entertainment with a two-site deal.
The new theaters will use laser projection systems at Aeon Cinema Ichikawa Myoden outside Tokyo and Aeon Cinema Shijonawate near Osaka, both large retail outlets. The Japanese deal follows Imax and Thai exhibitor Major Cineplex, who have expanded their partnership to three new laser-powered Imax cinemas in the Southeast Asian market and are at the forefront of Asian cinemas.
