Ana de Armas will be the official star of Dancerthe first anticipated spin-off film in the legend of John Wick.
Confirmation came at CinemaCon at the Lionsgate panel, where the first footage of John Wick 4: Hagakure. The nature of the Dancer was first introduced to John Wick 3 – Parabellumwhen Reeves’ character visited the Director (played by Anjelica Houston) in New York City, where she oversees a program that trains young wrestlers and ballet dancers to be assassins.
The plot, as many expect, will then focus on the events of a young murderer seeking revenge against those who destroyed his family. Ana De Armas is definitely an intriguing choice for the role, in light of her sharp performance in the role of Paloma in the last adventure of 007, No Time to Die. He also recently appeared in Blade Runner 2049 and in Dinner of Murder – Knife Out.
The filming got the green light from Lionsgate in early 2018 and will be directed by Len Wiseman. The screenplay will instead be written by Shay Hattenthe brain behind the script for Army of the Dead by Zack Snyder e John Wick 3 – Parabellum. Included with the manufacturers Chad Stahelskidirector of legend films of John Wick, Basil Iwanyk at Erica Lee. In a previous interview for The Hollywood ReporterStahelski himself commented on the new approach adopted to give the film its own personality:
“Having Len Wiseman on board and approaching the action from a slightly different perspective means making the character’s metaphor and what we will show in the action sequences fresh and original. So, we don’t just copy ourselves over and over again with gun-fu or what. Because the character is different, we get a different interpretation of things. But what about level, ability or style of action? Yes. I plan to be there to help whenever I can. And our 87eleven stunt team will be actively involved in helping Len with all of his needs in the action scene.. “
It is currently unclear if Keanu Reeves will appear as John Wick, although in the case his role is certainly more content than the major films of legend. The production of Dancer should start in the summer, while the official release date has not yet been confirmed.
