Steven Spielberg feared Covid-19 was ‘an extinction-level event’

In an interview, Steven Spielberg also criticized the treatment that Donald Trump, former US president, gave to the Covid-19 pandemic

One of the greatest film directors in the history of hollywood, Steven Spielberg revealed how he feared the coronavirus pandemic Covid-19 was “an extinction-level event” for humanity. Filmmaker has released acclaimed films such as Shark (1975), ET The Extraterrestrial (1982) and Jurassic Park – Dinosaur Park (1993).

During an interview with the newspaper The Daily Star (via NME), Spielberg talked about the health crisis and explained how he created the latest film, The Fabelmans, in response to his concerns. “I was terrified that [pandemia] was an end-times, epic-level event, I mean, an extinction-level event, happening to the world,” he said.

If I had the chance to make one more movie down the road, it would be this story.
