Don’t do this! Why can’t you break your neck

Despite the apparent feeling of relief, cracking your neck is harmful – and for many reasons. Get out of this habit!

The crackle in the neck seems to ease the discomfort. But that’s only in appearance! In fact, this action can lead to very unpleasant consequences.

The neck is the most vulnerable part of our body. The vertebrae in this section of the spine are small and the least durable (compared to the others, of course). The muscles here are also often weaker. With all of this, the neck remains the most mobile part of the body, so stress on this area simply cannot be avoided.

Do not abuse the mobility of the neck and turn it until a creak appears. This action may provide temporary relief, but in fact, it only makes things worse.

The fact is that the arteries and veins pass through the cervical vertebrae, which supply oxygen to the brain. A constant cracking can lead to injury to these arteries.

And the crackle worsens the condition of the vertebrae: the joints wear out, the ligaments are overstretched. This, in turn, can lead to protrusions, pinched nerve roots, blurred vision, hernias that compress the arteries and lead to headaches. And also to constant fatigue, insomnia and other troubles.

And the worst: damage to the arteries can even lead to a stroke!

If you feel constant tension in your neck and shoulders, it’s best to sign up for a massage, a chiropractor, or buy an MFR massage ball that you can do at home – on the floor or against the wall . Physiotherapy and micro-currents help well. The main thing is to fix the problem and not hope that everything will go away on its own.
