Minus 50 kilos: how I lost weight to feel younger

My story

Before adolescence, I was in great shape, then I started to gain weight. I tried several times to get rid of it, but nothing worked and I stopped each new diet.

Then I was diagnosed with polycystic disease and cycle problems started. I gave birth to a child, but I couldn’t get pregnant again. The gynecologist said that after losing weight it would be easier.

I must admit that I myself was already ready for extreme measures. My heart rate increased and I started having trouble breathing. I have had back pain for several years. The doctors offered different treatment options, but agreed on one thing: it’s time for me to lose weight.

how things have changed

My maximum weight is 125 kilograms and I started losing weight at the beginning of 2019. I subscribed to motivational accounts on Instagram (the social network is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation) and I read a mountain of literature on how to create a calorie deficit.

I started planning menus and weighing portions. When I understood how this mechanism works, it became much easier: I was able to estimate the calorie content of the dish by eye. And I also bought a bit smaller plates so there wasn’t so much food in them.

All of these habits are now part of my lifestyle, and I haven’t had to give up almost anything.

Also, I practiced drinking water when I realized that nearly 700 calories enter the body from the drinks alone!

What am I eating now

Breakfast: toast with egg, ham and cheese.

Lunch: meat with broccoli and other vegetables.

Snacks: yogurt and protein bars.

Dinner: chicken with vegetables or rice and low-fat sauce.

My workouts

Along with the nutrition changes, I started going to the gym. It turned out not to be scary at all, but very useful! I now do many exercises at home, having equipped a small gym.

What helped me

I lost 50 kilos in one year and I continue. It is possible to lose excess and improve your quality of life! The main thing is not to think that you are losing everything, because you are not. And there are many more benefits to losing weight. Now I feel much younger than before and I will definitely be able to give birth again. »
