How to brush your teeth so as not to erase tooth enamel: household appliances from orthodontists

99% of people brush their teeth incorrectly. It turns out that to remove plaque, you have to avoid overactive movements – and follow the tips of orthodontists for gentle, safe and more effective brushing.

Brushing our teeth is a routine activity that most of us don’t question. And that is why, instead of protecting the oral cavity against cavities, inflammation and other dental problems, we only test the resistance of the enamel of our teeth by performing movements that are too sudden, rapid and arduous.

Experts say: too active toothbrushing does not help clean plaque. Due to rapid and inattentive shaking, we pay little attention to the space around the gums – and also only clog the areas between the teeth.

In fact, brushing should be calm and measured, and the brush should touch the teeth very gently. To do this, the toothbrush should not be held in a closed fist, as we are all used to, but as we hold a pen or pencil – that is, so that the main load does not does not fall on the whole hand, but only on a few fingers.

Try picking up the brush like this – and you’ll instantly notice how your movements will change. From now on, when brushing your teeth, only the muscles of the hand will be used. This is more than enough: both for the purity of the result and for the prevention of enamel wear.

It can be extremely difficult for you to hold the brush in a new way at first. In this case, you can take it in any way that suits you: but take care that the muscles of the hand are not included in the work.

By the way, this technique is also useful for the condition of the toothbrush: it will not become “hairy” and sloppy-looking so quickly and will serve you in perfect condition for the recommended three months.
