Zendaya wrapped up the international press tour for Spider-Man: A Brand New Day on Wednesday in London, closing out a seven-stop run in which she used her wardrobe to echo the film at every turn.
Styled throughout by her close friend Law Roach, the 29-year-old actress wore a series of web-inspired looks from designers including Ashi Studio, Louis Vuitton and John Galliano, often appearing alongside her husband, Tom Holland.
The tour began in Madrid in mid-June, where Zendaya wore a black strapless gown by Christian Cowan featuring a fringe skirt and a 1940s silhouette with a Spanish twist. The dress came from the designer's Fall 2026 collection and was paired with black pumps and jewellery from Rolex and Stefere.
For a second Madrid look, she wore a high-neck red dress from Ernesto Naranjo's Fall 2026 collection, in the Spider-Man signature color, with matching pumps.
In Amsterdam, Zendaya wore a piece from Nicolas Ghesquiere's Cruise 2027 collection, a black jacket with white detailing paired with bright red shorts. At another Amsterdam photocall, she wore a sheer McQueen slip dress with an asymmetrical hem and white floral appliques, paired with a high-low black opera coat.
The tour then moved to Berlin for a German fan event, where Zendaya wore a red jersey-style top from Coach with a plaid midi skirt and brown pointed-toe heels, a nod to the film's college-set scenes. She changed for the premiere into a black custom leather two-piece from Louis Vuitton with a small waistcoat top and a low-rise maxi skirt with a long train.
In Rome, she wore a Swarovski-encrusted two-piece in red and blue from Versace's Fall 1997 collection, paired with white heels. For the evening event, she wore a vintage spiderweb gown from Giorgio Armani with jewellery from Tiffany & Co. Roach said of the choice, "Zendaya only wears Italian when in Italy."
Also during the Rome stop, Roach dressed her in an oversized $35 Marvel T-shirt from the early 2000s, finished with Louboutin heels and a Rolex watch.
At a London photocall, Zendaya wore a celestial John Galliano dress from the label's Spring 1997 collection.
After a break to promote her other film, The Odyssey, Zendaya returned to the Spider-Man tour for a photocall in New York, wearing a full look from Vetements' Spring/Summer 2027 menswear collection, made up of a white blazer over a black shirt dress with knee-high PVC boots, along with spiderweb earrings.
The same day, she appeared at a second event in Mexico City in an asymmetric black dress from Ashi Studio, combining silk with intricate lace in a body-hugging design, finished with spider-shaped earrings from Jacob & Co.
In Shanghai, Zendaya debuted a new Cleopatra-inspired hairstyle, straightening her waist-long hair with a short blunt fringe and wearing dark, smoky eye makeup. She wore a web-themed dress from Atelier Versace with black glittering web detailing and white draped edging, a silver brooch by David Webb at the waist, a Rolex watch and Christian Louboutin pumps.
Back in the United States, Zendaya wore a bold black dress from Ashi Studio, featuring a dramatic ruffled skirt with a deep plunge, on the blue carpet in Los Angeles.
The Final Premiere in London
At Wednesday's closing premiere in London, Zendaya wore a plunging white gown from Tamara Ralph with a silver sequin web design. The dress featured sparkly straps that cinched at the waist before flowing into a chiffon train, and an intricate silver spiderweb across the back hung with charms shaped like hearts, stars and a four-leaf clover. The main part of the gown was patterned like the night sky and scattered with gold cherub outlines.
Her hair was styled in long curls by No98 Beauty, and she wore Charlotte Tilbury makeup and skincare along with Mouawad earrings and a ring from the brand's Majestic Diamond Suite.
Holland, whose performance in Christopher Nolan's $250 million film The Odyssey was recently described by critics as "comic book basic," wore a dark purple Anderson & Sheppard suit with a bespoke Pragnell spider brooch to the London premiere.
Holland plays Peter Parker in the role previously held by Tobey Maguire. He and Zendaya met on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2016 and are now married.
About the Film
Spider-Man: A Brand New Day picks up four years after the events of No Way Home, in which a spell cast by Dr Strange, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, erased the world's memory of Peter Parker's secret identity. In the new film, Parker has largely withdrawn from his old life to focus on fighting crime, while his former girlfriend MJ, played by Zendaya, has moved on with a new love interest after forgetting they were ever a couple. Zendaya wore a black arachnid-themed gown to the film's Los Angeles premiere on Monday.
Several critics compared the film's darker turn in Parker's powers favorably to the tone of the original trilogy starring Maguire. The New York Post's Johnny Oleksinski called it a "welcome reunion" with Holland's Parker, describing it as "much darker" than earlier entries and writing that "tonally, Brand New Day is a lot more like Tobey Maguire's aughts films, which to my mind are not only the gold standard of Spider-Man movies, but Marvel films as well." Brian Tallerico of RogerEbert.com gave the film a middling 2.5 stars out of four.
The Telegraph wrote that "with Tom Holland on sparkling form and a mystery role for Sadie Sink, Brand New Day restores the gawkiness the franchise has been missing." The Independent said Holland's Spider-Man "has never been more authentic to the source material than in his fourth solo go-round, and the entire franchise is better for it." The Guardian called it "an entertaining spectacle" but said "a more radical reboot is needed." The New York Times wrote that Holland's performance "remains winsome and wonderfully kinetic even if you know that's got to be a computer-generated Spidey a lot of the time."
The premiere comes as the couple's other joint film, The Odyssey, has taken in $303 million worldwide in under a week since its wide release on July 17, with another $15 million to $20 million expected once Wednesday's figures arrive. Brand New Day is currently breaking pre-sale ticket records for its opening weekend and first week.
