Greek actress Zeta Makripoulia has spoken openly about relationships and how her view of love has changed over time, saying she has revised many of the beliefs she once held.
Asked whether she is still looking for love, Makripoulia said she does not chase it, though she does not rule it out either. She said she no longer identifies love with things that are not really love, which she believes led to being hurt in the past, adding that everyone has been hurt by love at some point.
Taking responsibility
In an interview with the new issue of Instyle magazine, Makripoulia said she has changed the way she handles difficulties in relationships. She said she now takes a share of responsibility for everything rather than blaming others, even when they are at fault, and that while anger can take over in the moment, she can control and change that feeling quickly because it is not the important thing.
She explained that she prefers to examine her own stance first, even in situations where she has genuinely been wronged. Makripoulia said it is better to look at what you did wrong yourself, since you allowed the other person to treat you that way by opening your boundaries too wide, rather than blaming others.
She added that this shift did not happen overnight but became a conscious process that left her feeling much calmer, noting that such ideas are easy to read about but are not achieved with the push of a button.
