Los Angeles Lakers star Ziaire Williams proposed to his longtime girlfriend, model Paris Timan, during a live performance by Bruno Mars at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
The basketball player got down on one knee in front of Timan on October 2, 2026, while Mars sang his romantic classic Marry You live on stage.
The proposal took place during the second of five scheduled concerts Mars is performing at the arena in Inglewood as part of his ongoing series, titled The Romantic Tour.
The engagement came as a complete surprise to Timan, creating an unexpected moment for thousands of concertgoers attending the performance.
SoFi Stadium later shared images of the proposal on Instagram, writing that it was truly a beautiful night alongside a crying face emoji and a ring emoji.
Romantic Soundtrack at SoFi Stadium
The track Marry You formed part of Doo-Wops & Hooligans, the debut studio album released by Mars in 2010. The song reached number 85 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2011 and subsequently became a staple for weddings, celebrations, and proposal videos.
More than 15 years after its initial release, the romantic hit provided the live backdrop for Williams and Timan before a stadium crowd.
Williams is a forward for the Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association, while Timan works as a professional model.
SoFi Stadium, located in Inglewood, California, is a premier sports and entertainment venue that serves as home to NFL franchises and major touring concert acts.
Chart Success for The Romantic
Mars performed the show as part of the promotional tour for his fourth solo studio album, titled The Romantic. The record marked his return to the top of the music charts after several years without releasing a solo project.
The album debuted directly at number 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, making it the first solo album release from Mars since 24K Magic in 2016.
The album's lead single, I Just Might, debuted at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The track represents the tenth Billboard Hot 100 number 1 single for Mars and his first single to debut at the top spot.
The album opens with the track Risk It All and concludes with Dance With Me. The closing song features Colombian singer Karol G in its accompanying music video and debuted at number 42 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
