Ant Anstead shared a rare look at his son Hudson's relationship with his girlfriend, actress Renée Zellweger, in an Instagram post marking the boy's seventh birthday on Sunday.
The British TV personality, known for hosting shows including Celebrity IOU: Joyride and Wheeler Dealers, posted a video celebrating Hudson, his son from his marriage to Christina Haack. The couple were married from 2018 to 2021.
The post included several moments Hudson has shared with Zellweger, who has been Anstead's partner for five years.
One photo showed Hudson wearing a bejewelled crown and gazing adoringly at Zellweger as she held him in her arms.
In another image, the Bridget Jones actress wore a mini top hat over a cap and heart rose-tinted sunglasses, while she and Anstead wore matching leis. A video clip included in the post showed Zellweger, 57, running barefoot behind Hudson on the sand during a day at the beach.
Zellweger On Life With Anstead
Zellweger, an Academy Award-winning actress best known for playing the title role in the Bridget Jones film series, opened up about her relationship with Anstead last year in a joint interview with actor Hugh Grant for British Vogue.
"I live in Southern California, near San Diego. Because that's where my fellow lives, and his little boy," she said.
Anstead and Zellweger met while filming Celebrity IOU: Joyride, a home renovation series in which celebrities help their friends or family with a car and home project.
Anstead Calls Zellweger 'The Best Human'
In July, Anstead gave a rare interview about the relationship on Jeremy Vine on 5, calling Zellweger "the best human I've ever met."
He told Vine she is "absolutely brilliant" and a "genius." Anstead also revealed that Zellweger had a hand in his decision to buy the 500-year-old farmhouse he has been restoring as part of one of his shows.
"She [Renee] was there prior to purchasing it, so I obviously take her counsel, and we walked around it and we were like, yeah, this is the house," Anstead said. "Renée is wonderful. We had our five-year anniversary in April. She's a wonderful human. The best human I've ever met, for a start. She's absolutely brilliant. Genius. The kindest human on the planet. She's into cars and houses."
Anstead has largely kept the relationship out of the spotlight. In 2024, he admitted on Jeremy Vine On 5 that he sometimes forgets his girlfriend is famous.
"I mean, ultimately, it is microscopically examined, I'm sure, but I don't really think about that," he said. "She's so incredibly normal, and I often forget that she's famous."
He has previously told People magazine he prefers not to discuss the relationship in detail. "It's something I'm not really willing to talk too much about," he said. "It's really early in our relationship, and I don't want to put any pressure on that."
Anstead's Family And Custody Battle With Haack
Hudson is Anstead's son from his relationship with Christina Haack, the Flip or Flop star. The pair divorced in 2021 after a contentious custody battle that stretched on for years, during which Anstead unsuccessfully attempted to gain full custody of their son.
Anstead is also father to two older children, Amelie, 21, and Archie, 18, from a previous marriage to his ex-wife Louise.
Speaking on an episode of The Flip Off, Anstead said it was "shameful" that it took him and Haack so long to reach an amicable relationship as co-parents.
"The relationship that we have now is really, really important. And it's been a transformation," he said. "As parents, it took us four and a half years to get to that point, which is really shameful. You and I will be connected forever because we have a kid. So ultimately, I have to stand by the mother of my kid."
Anstead and Haack settled their custody battle in December 2022, agreeing to continue joint legal and physical custody of Hudson.
