Spanish commercial broadcaster Antena 3 emerged as Sunday's leading private television channel in Spain, securing a 9.8 percent average audience share. The Madrid-based network outperformed its direct commercial competitor by 2.3 percentage points on August 10, 2026, while also dominating the afternoon viewing slot with a 15.5 percent share.

The channel claimed the top spot across overall television viewing thanks to its midday news program, Antena 3 Noticias FDS 1, which became the most-watched broadcast of the day. The channel also swept the entertainment ratings with game show La ruleta de la suerte and led the movie slot with Multicine feature Mentiras que queman.

Antena 3 is the flagship television channel of Atresmedia Corporacion, one of the primary media groups in Spain. Operating alongside sister channel laSexta, the network competes directly with other free-to-air commercial broadcasters across Spanish territory for audience share and advertising revenue.

Midday news and game show dominance
Antena 3 Noticias FDS 1, anchored by Matías Prats, finished first in the daily ratings ranking as the most-watched program in Spain. The weekend afternoon news edition drew an average of 1.6 million viewers, registering a 20 percent audience share and reaching 2.6 million unique viewers. The broadcast gave Antena 3 a lead of 12.2 percentage points over one rival network and 6.7 percentage points over another.

Across both of its Sunday editions, the news service Antena 3 Noticias FDS established itself as the day's main news reference, averaging a 15.6 percent share. In television audience measurement, share indicates the percentage of active viewers watching a specific channel out of the total audience watching television at that time.

Game show La ruleta de la suerte maintained its position as the most-watched television entertainment program, continuing an undefeated run in the afternoon schedule. Co-hosted by Jorge Fernández and Laura Moure, the game show completed a full week of daily victories.

Earlier in the morning lineup, culinary show Cocina abierta de Karlos Arguiñano led its time slot with an average of 565,000 viewers, an 11.1 percent share, and nearly one million unique viewers. Presented by Spanish chef Karlos Arguiñano, the program serves as the lead-in to the channel's afternoon schedule.

The network also recorded Sunday's most-watched film with Mentiras que queman, broadcast during the Multicine afternoon movie strand. The film led its time slot with an average of 916,000 viewers, an 11.6 percent share, and more than two million unique viewers, pulling ahead of rival channels by 4.8 and 2.2 percentage points.

Sister channel laSexta also posted strong figures during Sunday night with its film slot El Taquillazo, broadcasting comedy movie Que se mueran los feos. The broadcast outperformed all rival private channels with a 6.9 percent share, marking the strand's second-highest result of the year. The movie gathered an average of 584,000 viewers and reached 2.5 million unique viewers.
