Brittany Cartwright detailed the betrayal of her former publicist Lori Krebs after Krebs began a relationship with Cartwright's estranged husband Jax Taylor. The 37-year-old television personality called the relationship a complete betrayal during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live on Wednesday.
Cartwright and Taylor remain embroiled in ongoing drama during their publicized divorce. In July, her estranged husband and Krebs were photographed together during a getaway to Mexico, leading Cartwright to share how she discovered the romance from text messages sent shortly before the images were published. Host Andy Cohen heard that Krebs texted Cartwright saying things have changed and acknowledging that the mother of one will feel betrayed.
The Valley star explained that Krebs was still working as her publicist when the messages arrived. She was still getting a retainer from me, still making 10 percent on things from me, she was still my friend, family, basically, Cartwright expressed. Cartwright revealed she had recently invited Krebs to a Fourth of July cookout at her home, contradicting claims that their friendship ended a year and a half ago.
Krebs also accompanied Cartwright to a Watch What Happens Live taping in April. The lies are insane, Cartwright alleged of Taylor and Krebs. To try to flip the image and make them look better. It's never gonna look better. What she did, I expect it from Jax. I don't care if Jax dates somebody, move on. Like, leave me alone. It's what she did. She added that Krebs had been a family member to her and somebody she turned to during difficult relationship moments, claiming she cried on her shoulders and that Krebs knows everything.
Retainer fees and missed parenting allegations
Cartwright alleged that Krebs knows Taylor manipulates and love bombs. She expressed heartbreak that Krebs chose the relationship over her career, family, and long-standing friendships. When asked if Taylor and Krebs remain together, Cartwright answered, I guess, and alleged that Taylor missed time with his son because he was in Canada.
Shortly after her appearance on Watch What Happens Live on Wednesday, Taylor responded to the claims in a since-deleted Instagram comment on a post shared by the Bravo show, according to Us Weekly. He wrote that the amount of blatant lies in the interview was unbelievable. Taylor stated that he has never missed scheduled parenting time with five-year-old Cruz, adding that public records show he has custody every Wednesday and on weekends, and that he returned to Los Angeles on Tuesday.
Today, you refused to let me have my scheduled time with him because you're angry over personal matters and that’s why we have an emergency court hearing tomorrow since you continue to weaponize my son against me, Taylor claimed. He added that the truth will come out when he has the opportunity to speak and that he has receipts to back up his claims. Daily Mail reached out to representatives for Cartwright and Taylor, but has yet to hear back.
Text message warnings and divorce history
Before her television appearance, Cartwright addressed Taylor's romance with their mutual friend and publicist in an interview with People, stating that she was shaking. She explained that Krebs was not only her publicist but was like a sister to her for 10 years, calling the situation a complete, complete betrayal. Taylor and Cartwright, who share son Cruz, filed for divorce in August 2024 after four years of marriage.
The former couple first met Krebs a decade ago through mutual manager Ryan Revel, who still works with Cartwright but fired Taylor in May. Krebs managed Cartwright's career from Vanderpump Rules, which she starred in from 2015 to 2020, to The Valley, currently in its third season. They also vacationed together in Mexico and the Bahamas. Hours before the getaway photos were published, Krebs sent a text warning Cartwright that the news was going to be incredibly shocking and painful.
Krebs wrote that she and Taylor grew closer in recent months, acknowledging past rumors that she previously denied. Krebs stated that the relationship developed in the past few months, adding that she struggled with how to handle it and insisting that she never discussed Cartwright's work, business, personal life, or private conversations with Taylor. Cartwright said her heart sank when she received the text, responding that the situation was disgusting and horrible and telling Krebs you’re dead to me before communication ceased.
The Valley star stated that reports that Taylor and Krebs bonded over their divorces and raising children on the autism spectrum broke her heart. Knowing everything that I do for my son, knowing how hard this divorce has been on me, knowing everything I have gone through, that’s what you’re going to say you bonded over? It’s absolutely disgusting, Cartwright said. Cartwright fired Krebs after news broke of the getaway in Mexico.
Smartwater campaign dispute and sabotage claims
The relationship revelation follows public accusations from Taylor last week claiming Cartwright engaged in career sabotage. Taylor posted a lengthy Instagram statement addressing a fake brand promotion with Smartwater, which originated from a third-party influencer marketing platform called VideoForce.ai.
Taylor had posted a since-deleted photograph of himself sitting near a pool with a bottle of Smartwater, tagging the brand and adding partner as a hashtag. After realizing the campaign was unauthorized, Taylor removed the content and stated he accepted what he believed was a legitimate campaign opportunity. He added that he would never intentionally misrepresent a partnership.
Cartwright discussed the situation on her podcast When Reality Hits, which Taylor claimed was an attempt to humiliate him. My ex-wife chose to publicly mock me and embarrass me instead of handling it privately, Taylor wrote, adding that they remain parents of a young child and deserve mutual respect. He stated that he stayed quiet for a long time out of respect for her as the mother of their son.
Taylor wrote that constant attempts were being made to tear away new opportunities, alleging that Cartwright directly contacted networks and brands to prevent him from earning a living. He added that he never wanted to make the matter public but could not stay silent while she continued to lie. Cartwright had suggested on her podcast that Taylor was trying to flip his image, and she later posted a since-expired Instagram story denying his allegations.
In comments to Us Weekly published on Saturday, Taylor stated that Cartwright went out of her way to publicly embarrass him by contacting the brand, laughing on her podcast, and posting false social media accusations. Taylor noted that he has been sober for nearly two years and worked on his mental health and fatherhood. A source close to Cartwright told Us Weekly that Cartwright is the victim, stating that accountability lies with Taylor and that his difficulty booking jobs stems from his own actions on and off camera. Taylor also confirmed last week that he is in a new relationship, though he did not explicitly name Krebs as his girlfriend.
