Playboi Carti arrested for assaulting pregnant girlfriend

Playboi Carti was arrested in Georgia, USA, accused of physically assaulting his current girlfriend. The rapper allegedly suffocated the victim, who is pregnant, after an argument involving a paternity test. The information comes from TMZ.

According to the detention report obtained by the American site, the attacks took place when the woman was 14 weeks old, in mid-December last year. She claimed he grabbed her neck and pushed her.

As for the motive, she told police it was all prompted by a conversation about the baby and a paternity test, which she said escalated into a physical attack. The victim said she managed to escape Playboi’s hands and get into the car after a witness tried to settle the dispute. However, the assaults would continue, with the rapper placing his hand over her mouth as she tried to use the vehicle’s SOS function.

According to police, officers arrived at the scene and saw that the woman had visible injuries to her neck, chest and back. Carti was arrested for aggravated assault. Brian Steelthe rapper’s attorney, told TMZ that Playboi was “falsely accused” and that the “case will be dismissed without any prosecution or litigation.”
