Sabrina Sato is the butt of religious fanaticism at Carnival

Host Sabrina Sato suffered religious prejudice after dressing up as a dragon for the Gaviões da Fiel parade. She published photos and videos of the costume used in last Saturday’s parade (2/18) during the São Paulo Carnival, and began to be attacked by evangelicals.

According to believers, Sabrina would have worn a carnival costume that refers to the evil symbols of the Bible. “Devil worship is so explicit, need I say more. People sell their souls even for fame, pitiful,” declared one comment.

“Carnival: Feast of meat, where the depravity of humanity is celebrated,” analyzed another person, sparking intolerance. “Satanism runs rampant,” said a third. «Impleous, insulting the sacred… blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. He has no forgiveness », added another, in a tone of religious fanaticism.

Contrary to criticism for the “diabolical” look, the host was characterized by a glittering leotard with direct references to the dragon of São Jorge, also known as Ogum, the holy warrior. She even explained it in an Instagram message, that she was not only ignored but may have fueled the religious intolerance of her comments.

It is worth noting that the samba-enredo of Gaviões, “In the name of the father, of the children, of the spirits and of the saints… Amen”, called for an end to religious intolerance, imagining a world where different beliefs could coexist with respect and harmony. But what happened was the opposite.
