Tom Sizemore’s relatives (“Saving Private Ryan”) will have to decide their future. This Monday (28), the doctors reported that “there is no more hope” of recovery for the actor and recommended that the family opt for euthanasia.
Tom suffered a brain aneurysm due to a stroke on February 19th. The ‘Saving Private Ryan’ actor is in critical condition and has been in a coma in the intensive care unit of Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank since his hospitalization. Sizemore family rep Charles Lago told The Hollywood Reporter that the relatives have been made aware of Tom’s critical condition and are now “deciding what to do” with the actor’s life.
“We ask for privacy for his family at this difficult time. They appreciate the support and prayers received. It is a very difficult time for them,” the spokesman added.
Sizemore was at his home in Los Angeles when, around 2 a.m., he was found unconscious by an acquaintance, who became concerned and called an ambulance. Since then he has been in a coma.
Tom Sizemore is best remembered for his role as Sergeant Michael Horvath in ‘Saving Private Ryan’ a film directed by Steven Spielberg (‘Amor Sublime Amor’) in 1998. He has also starred in films such as ‘Natural Born Killers’ (1994) , ‘Red Planet’ (2000) and ‘Black Hawk Down’ (2001), and was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for his role in ‘Witness Protection’ (1999 ).
Sizemore has long struggled with drug addiction and had a number of legal troubles throughout his career.
He was convicted, in 2003, of domestic violence charges stemming from an affair with his ex-girlfriend Heidi Fleiss. He also stated in an interview with CNN that he was addicted to cocaine, heroin and methamphetamine.
