Wanessa Camargo talks about the end of her marriage and panic disorder

“It was very difficult for me,” says the singer of recent years

This Tuesday, 28, Vanessa Camargo attended the Meet with Patricia Poetencouraging the audience and talking about his career and personal life, as well as receiving emotional testimonials from his father, the singer Zeze from Camargoand sister, Camila Camargo.

However, the highlight was due to the singer’s outburst about the end of the marriage with the businessman Marco Buaiz. The two had been together for 17 years and, as a result of their relationship, they had two children: Jose Marcus AND John Francis. He denounced the judgment suffered in recent times due to the separation.

“I’ve had to face a lot of judgment this past year. We know it’s a part of our lives, I’ve been working on it for 22 years and I’ve already brought a lot into the head of the media, the lies we face, the judgement. People don’t understand. I have this privilege to have a family that understands and that, even in their differences, welcomes. I was very welcoming by my family for a moment that was very judged, which was my separation,” he stressed.

Wanessa reiterated the support she has had from her family and the reaction of the children to the end of the couple’s union. “It was very difficult for me. I think anyone who has young children and goes through a separation knows how difficult it is for you to see your children suffer and you have to tell them, ‘Mom has to find a way to be happy again to be a better mother “. And they won’t understand now. So it’s a process that I’m going through and it’s this construction. My father, my mother, all of them, of course, were scared, but they hugged me. I have a lot of gratitude,” she stressed.

Anxiety

Also on the show, Wanessa talked about resuming her career after a two-year hiatus and what it was like during the time she was dealing with anxiety and panic attacks. “It is part of my healing process to open my heart and speak the truth. Any mental situations we have in life today are treated very biased. I have been diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder, or OCD, since I was very young. In my 20s, I panicked and was ashamed to say it,” she said.

The artist argues that the pandemic has reignited anxiety and panic. “The pandemic has messed with my head a lot. I caught covid four times, I can even ask for music on Fantástico. Every time I thought I was going to die, that something was going to happen. I was scared to leave my children. So, the panic came back in 2020 and it got me to the point of paralyzing me,” he said.

Wanessa said that when she was faced with panic syndrome again, she decided to take care of herself by undergoing therapy, and that what helped her in this process was listening to other people who suffer from anxiety and panic. “I didn’t feel alone,” she reveals.
