This actor turned down the role of Jack Sparrow – Johnny Depp was just his replacement

The role of Captain Jack Sparrow is one of the brightest in Johnny Depp’s filmography. However, he would hardly have won gigantic fees on Pirates if another actor deemed more suitable for the role had not refused the role at the last moment.

Johnny Depp played dozens of amazing roles, thanks to which his name is forever inscribed in the history of world cinema. And yet, the vast majority of viewers know him for his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the mega-popular Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

The “pirates” are loved and known in all countries, adults and children alike. This is why the public still does not believe that the creators of the sequel will ever be able to replace him with another character.

But in fact, Johnny Depp could not become Jack Sparrow. In the early 2000s, the creators of “Pirates” thought the perfect candidate for the role – Jim Carrey!

But even then, the creators did not turn to Johnny Depp!
