In an interview with the program Conversation with Bial, from Globo, Renata said Bonner called her at the start of the pandemic and asked them to support each other. “Often, just by looking at each other, we helped each other,” said the reporter.
“That moment in Manaus, when people couldn’t breathe oxygen… People, hospitalized, without the possibility of oxygen to sustain them, because there wasn’t any… That often made me short of breath. In the air. And I had help from Bonner… Sometimes, it was just an ‘I go, you go’, and that was it,” he added.
The presenter revealed that she will always remember the moments of the coverage: “There were moments when I interviewed with tears welling up in my eyes, and I moved away a little so that the camera didn’t pick me up. And I resisted to be able to ask the next question and the tears flow, which we will carry with us forever.
