Hooray, filmed! Why Kit Harington Was Waiting For ‘Game Of Thrones’ To End Filming

The Game of Thrones series quickly became cult and transformed underrated and up-and-coming artists into stars overnight. But that doesn’t mean everyone was happy with the shoot. For example, Kit Harington was itching to get rid of the Jon Snow image — and here’s why.

While playing Jon Snow in Game of Thrones, Kit Harington was not allowed to cut his hair, as his character has long curly hair, which has become a signature detail of the image. The actor could hardly wait for the completion of work on the series to get rid of annoying curls.

“I’d like to step back and enjoy the darkness, cut my hair, become less recognizable as a character, and do something else with a whole new image,” he said.

The actor rightly believed that he could no longer look like Jon Snow in his next role – so he wouldn’t get rid of his tired role.

“I can’t move on to the next role and look the same. That role was brilliant, but I have to get rid of Jon Snow,” Kit shared.

And so it happened – the first thing after filming wrapped, Harington cut his curls and shaved off his beard to star in Sam Shepard’s theatrical production of ‘The True West.’ The transformation turned out perfect – Keith was barely recognizable.

Moreover, he is not the first to dream of changing his hairstyle after a long shoot. Emma Watson, who played Hermione in the Harry Potter saga from the age of 10 to 19 and was also not allowed to cut her hair, drastically changed her image after completion and gave a haircut super short hair.
