In conversation a The Drew Barrymore Show, Drew Barrymore AND Brooke Shields vented about the toxic relationship they had with their mothers early in their careers. The stars, who started working in childhood, shared their experiences and pointed out the similarities between their mothers.

“We both had mothers who had to guide us, keep us alive and take care of us,” brook said: “And they were broken”, explained the actress, referring to their emotional side.

Elsewhere in the chat, Drew, who emancipated himself from his parents at the age of 14, revealed that his mother, jaidshe has been involved with her boyfriends: “I was so confused about sexuality because my mom used to hang out with my boys.”

Then, the actress and show host asked Shields if she’d ever experienced anything like this. “No, because she was in love with me. I was her main target”he replied. “And we were both cut off from our sexuality. I should remain a virgin,” Brooke vented.

After hearing the fellow pro’s lines, Barrymore reflected: “My mother was so in love with me that she wanted to be with the people I was with.”“I don’t understand, but I understand”, Shields responded in conclusion: “It’s so needy and weird.”
