BTS’ J-Hope posts photo with shaved hair preparing for mandatory military service


The artist is the second band member to complete the enlistment; the group announced a three-year hiatus for members to commit to military service

Artist Jung Hoseok, better known as j-hopemember of k-pop BTS extension, posted a photo showing that he is about to start his military service. He appeared in Instagram with shaved hair in a post on Monday the 17th. “I’ll have a good trip,” he wrote.




J-Hope is the second member of BTS to complete the mandatory enlistment in the South Korea. In December, Kim Seok-jin, known as Jinhe turned 30 and left for military service.

As reported at the time, BTS will take a three-year hiatus and is expected to return to the stage in 2025. In South Korea, men between the ages of 18 and 28 must complete between 18 and 21 months of military service.

Performers who are awarded a South Korean government medal can defer enlistment until the age of 30. This was the case for the artists, who were awarded the Order of Cultural Merit in 2018, but are about to reach the age limit.
