Nearly Arrested for Disorderly Conduct: Vin Diesel’s Unexpected Start to Acting Career Will Surprise You

You would think that the directors discovered the action hero already in adulthood thanks to his spectacular type. Muscles and brutal looks really became the ingredients of Diesel’s success when Steven Spielberg invited him to shoot the movie Saving Private Ryan. This work opened completely new perspectives for Vin in Hollywood.

But Diesel’s acting career began much earlier – with shameless hooligan antics, and not with regular casting. When he was seven years old, Vin and his friends went to the theater and started acting like a boy and raging there, almost blowing the stage and the audience. Of course, soon loud little brawlers got caught – a conversation had to take place with the director of the theater, Crystal Field. However, instead of calling their parents or the police, the woman hired the guys for an upcoming play.

“She put a script in our faces and said, ‘If you want to play here, then I’ll be waiting for you here every day at 4 p.m. Earn $20 a week,” Diesel recalled this episode.

So Vin made his stage debut in a play based on the play “Dinosaur Door” – this experience sparked a spark of interest in acting in him. After class, he happily ran to rehearsals.
