Actress Carla Diaz and her boyfriend, federal deputy Felipe Becari (União Brasil), have spoken in recent days. This is because, in an anonymous complaint, the MP was accused of having diverted funds from the Felipe Becari Institute, which welcomes abused animals, to buy a luxurious engagement ring and pay for a trip to Italy. He has been suspected of embezzlement since January and will testify this Thursday (17/5) to the Civil Police of São Paulo, on charges of embezzlement and illicit enrichment.
The Congressman regularly asks for donations through PIX and promotes raffles through social media with the aim of helping rescued animals. Pet advocacy is his biggest flag and he denies the allegations.
A complaint was filed on January 16 and points out that Becari would have diverted public resources to his own advantage and that of councilors who would not have worked regularly in the City Council of São Paulo. According to the anonymous statement, footage of animal rescues in abuse situations was taken and displayed on social media to “get benefits”.
Another anonymous statement, made to the deputy on January 4, cited former BBB Carla Diaz and the Becari institute. According to the document of the 4th Criminal Prosecutor’s Office, attached to the embezzlement investigation, “it compacts with irregular lotteries and takes advantage of money acquired by the PIX and the lotteries”.
Both claim to have legally acquired their assets. “It was the result/payment of my relationship with partner brands. I documented it,” defended Carla Diaz, citing that the trip to Italy was sponsored. The two traveled across Europe and stayed in luxury hotels, such as a historic 10th-century castle, whose accommodation cost an average of R$1,000 to R$7,000. The artist stated that she has already activated her lawyer.
Felipe Becari has also promised to proceed with the criminal and civil liability of those who, according to him, try to harm them. In a note, the deputy’s consultant reported that he had “distorted a criminal complaint for the commission of crimes against honor and asked for the opening of an investigation to determine the commission of the crime of persecution, targeting dozens of people already identified “.
The couple say the allegations are slanderous and the result of persecution by haters. “The so-called ‘haters’ who came, the result of an old relationship experienced by my girlfriend on a reality show, brought me a flood of threats, lying accusations, slanderous articles, just to put an end to my image and my relationship” , underlined the deputy on social media.

If convicted, he risks a sentence ranging from 2 to 12 years in prison, in addition to a fine.
Another lawsuit against the politician goes before the 3rd Civil Court of Cotia and asks for the payment of R$ 22 thousand to a temporary home specialized in rescuing dogs in a state of vulnerability. According to the procedure, in December 2020 the company was activated for the temporary accommodation service of the animals rescued by Becari, providing food, shelter and first aid for a previously settled amount. In this sense, the deputy also filed a criminal complaint for the commission of crimes against honor and asked for the opening of an investigation to determine the commission of the crime of persecution.
Furthermore, it should be noted that various proceedings have already been duly initiated against the deputy, since, as has been said, these are proceedings initiated on the basis of completely false news, lacking any supporting documents.
