A member of Lana Del Rey’s team apologizes after insulting Brazilians

Tour technical team member Wool Del Rey, Will Whitney apologized after cursing Brazilians on social media. In a since-deleted post, he said the country “doesn’t deserve live music” and said he “can’t wait to go home”, stating that his cell phone was stolen during a visit to Brazil.

“I would like to apologize for my post about being robbed in Rio. The experience really shook me and I wrote this post at the height of my emotions. The sound engineer unpublished with the insults this Wednesday afternoon, 31, and his account on Instagram is closed.

Lana Del Rey will perform next Saturday, 3, as the main attraction of the festival in Vale do Anhangabaú in downtown São Paulo.

Netizens accused him of xenophobia

Last Sunday the 28th, Will Whitney wrote on Instagram: “Just had my phone stolen from my hands by a piece of shit on a motorcycle. Fuck this whole country. They don’t deserve live music. Can’t wait to go go home”. He even used the hashtags “Fuck Brazil”, “human trash” and “shit hole” in the post.
