Suspect in Jeff Machado’s murder confesses to helping hide the body




Jeander Vinícius da Silva Braga, one of the suspects in the death of actor Jeff Machado (“Reis”), has confessed to having participated in the concealment of the body. The information was revealed by the family’s defense attorney, Jairo Magalhães.

According to the lawyer, Jeander confirmed that he was at the crime scene, involved in the murder and helped hide the body. He was indicted for murder after testifying at the DPPA police station on May 26. The police station requested his arrest to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, but the Rio de Janeiro Civil Police reported that he has not yet been arrested.

The arrest of suspect Bruno de Souza Rodrigues was also called for. A friend of Jeff Machado, Bruno was fired from Globo in 2018 for cause. The actor allegedly donated BRL 20,000 to his companion in the company with the promise of winning a role in a soap opera, according to a friend of the victim, Cintia Hilsendeger.

The artist had been missing for four months and his family began to suspect he was missing on January 27. On February 9, he was reported missing by the police.

The actor’s remains were found inside a trunk that belonged to him on May 23. The object was buried and concreted into the floor of a property in Campo Grande, RJ where Jeff lived.

The body had a wire around the neck and the arms tied above the head. Due to the condition, the cause of death was initially listed as strangulation. However, according to the autopsy report, the advanced stage of decomposition prevents the exact definition of the cause of death.

Jefferson Machado Costa was born in Araranguá, in the municipality of Santa Catarina. He was a journalist, producer, screenwriter and soap opera actor on Record TV.
