Promising 1990s Hollywood actresses everyone forgot – where are they now?

They had both brilliant roles and high-profile romances, but a few decades have passed and those names are almost forgotten.

Claire Forlani

A spectacular brunette with sharp cheekbones and seductive almond eyes in the second half of the 1990s was one of the most beautiful actresses. Claire got her expressive features from her roots: her mother was an Englishwoman and her father was Italian.

The public had many opportunities to admire the actress. In 1996, she starred in the action movie The Rock, and in 1998, in Meet Joe Black. From the filming of the latter, she came out not only with another share of glory, but also with Brad Pitt by the arm – an affair began between the actors. However, these relations did not last long. In the early 2000s, Claire’s popularity was at its peak, and the actress regularly appeared on the Sexiest Women charts.

But then Hollywood began to disappoint the actress. She no longer wanted to turn into the party, despising her. In 2007, Claire married actor Dougray Scott, began to devote more time to sports and family.

Thora Burch

Tora was one of the most important young actresses of the 1990s, and she began acting as a child in the late 1980s and soon received the Young Actor Award for Most Promising and Talented Starlet. . In 1999, she interpreted the role of Jane Burnham, the daughter of the protagonist played by Kevin Spacey, in the film American Beauty by Sam Mendes, and in 2001, she appeared in the film Ghost World, where the young Scarlett Johansson became her partner. This project earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress.

In the 2010s, Tora took a break from her career, then tried herself as a producer and starred in independent films. She married in 2018, then returned to roles in bigger and more popular projects, such as starring in the tenth season of The Walking Dead in 2019.

Jodi Lynn O’Keeffe

Jodie left school at 12 and started acting in films, but her first success came in 1996 when she played hero Don Johnson’s daughter in the popular 1990s TV series Detective Nash Bridges. At the same time, behind the scenes, the on-screen father and daughter began an affair: Don was then 47 and Jodie was 18.

The role on the show made her a star and brought her to the attention of Hollywood producers. Thus, in 1998, she appeared for the first time on the big screen in the film Halloween: 20 years later.

Jodie was unmarried, although in her biography there were romances with other Hollywood handsome men, including John Cusack.

O’Keeffe is still shooting on TV (by the way, you can see her in one of the episodes of The Big Bang Theory), but she has long disappeared from the category of recognizable actresses.

Geena Davis

Geena Davis was first remembered by the public for her bright role in the film “Thelma and Louise”, where she starred in a duet with Susan Sarandon. And few people know that a few years ago Gina managed to get an Oscar in the category “Best Supporting Actress” for the film “The Reluctant Tourist”.

A fairly successful career Davis was actually destroyed in 1995 by a role in the film Cutthroat Island, which completely failed at the box office. The black streak lasted almost ten years, but the actress still managed to rehabilitate. In 2005, The Presidential Woman series was released, in which Davis played the lead role of US President Mackenzie Allen. For her, she received a Golden Globe and was nominated for an Emmy.

Davis has been married four times, but children did not appear until her last marriage to plastic surgeon Reza Jarrakhi. They divorced in 2018 after 17 years of marriage.
