Why Roman Kostomarov always wears a hat

The fate of skater Roman Kostomarov, without exaggeration, was watched by the whole country. The Olympic champion suffered a serious illness, amputation of limbs – literally returned from the other world. Now Kostomarov is on his way to his former normal life. In his blog, the skater posted the first video in which he is already training on an exercise bike. Another touch of that same old life is a hat. As you know, Roman did not part with the headdresses. For what? We say.

Athletes are also superstitious. Many have their own secret rituals, talismans and other good luck omens. But is there a sacred meaning behind every habit?

For many years Kostomarov appeared in public with a headdress, usually a hat. And it comes out on the ice in it. Many have wondered what this unchanging part of the picture means?

Kostomarov said that the hip-hop hat is part of his image, which reminds him of his youth, and also emphasizes freedom of style, which he has always appreciated.

But there is a habit and more prosaic reasons.

“Once upon a time, I felt so comfortable on the ice: my hair started to thin out, but my partner still needs hair when you dance. In single skating, it’s a little easier. Well, now I’m just used to it,” the skater admitted in an interview with Elena Vaitsekhovskaya in 2020.

At the same time, at home, Kostomarov always takes off his headdress.
